Larry Basselini, a YAI Hudson Valley resident, is 100.7 WHUD’s number one fan. Larry has a longstanding relationship with the local radio station and hopes to one day tour the facility and meet all of his favorite DJs.
Basselini is known to call in to request songs, give shoutouts to staff and family members, and even report traffic on the thruway or bad weather conditions.
“He’s managed to build very good relationships there and everyone at the station knows him,” said Jamie Stein, Residential Supervisor at Larry's home.
Basselini requested “Celebrate” by Kool & the Gang for Stein when she finished grad school recently. His ultimate favorite song request is Tears for Fear’s “Everybody Wants to Rule the World.”
“I feel happy when I make my requests,” said Basselini. “I love it so much, it’s my number one station.”
