Ashara Edwards
Senior Regional Director
Ashara began working at YAI as an Overnight Asleep Direct Support Professional in 2011. Today, she is the Senior Regional Director of Manhattan and Brooklyn programs. She is passionate about working with seniors, people with dementia, and other medically frail populations with I/DD to ensure they receive exceptional services and become more integrated in their community. She has played a key role in developing a training curriculum for new managers throughout YAI and is a member of the policy committee. She is also a Hub Team Expert for Project ECHO, a training series run through the University of Rhode Island that supports healthcare providers in learning about people with I/DD and dementia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in nutrition and dietetics and a Master of Science in nutrition, both from Lehman College.
