Getting Started With YAI Services in New York
Important Note: Most YAI services in New York require approval from the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD).
New to OPWDD?
Here's what you need to do:
- Find a Care Coordination Organization (CCO) in your county: These local organizations can guide you through the application process. Find a CCO in your county on the OPWDD website.
- CCOs can help you gather information and documents needed for the application. These documents typically include recent evaluations, medical reports, and proof of age of onset for people over 22.
- They can also submit your application electronically to OPWDD and track its status.
- Alternatively, you can contact OPWDD Front Door.
