Anthony Ottrando
Chief Human Resources Officer
In a pivotal role, Anthony Ottrando takes responsibility for creating a sustainable and engaged workforce of more than 4,000 employees. He has worked to meet the challenges of retention and staff development while providing a robust array of benefits and staff supports that help affirm YAI’s reputation as an employer of choice. He is excited to expand performance management to strengthen the relationship between frontline workers and supervision. Anthony joined YAI in 2016 after a career directing corporate HR teams in a variety of industries from banking to marketing and telecommunications. At YAI, he is motivated to foster a work environment that encourages employees to understand their role as essential to improving quality of life for thousands of people with I/DD. He established an in-house temporary staffing system that provides quick access to highly skilled staff to support our programs. Additionally, he played a key role in the transition to a new enterprise management system as well as initiated a management development program partnering with Rutgers and The National Leadership Consortium on Developmental Disabilities at the University of Delaware. He formed additional educational partnerships between YAI and local colleges including York, Stonybrook, Touro, NYU, and Berkeley. He is driven by his passion for nurturing employees. Anthony attended Pace University and Hunter College.
