Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) work with people of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD. Our DSPs become certified Registered Behavior Technician™ (RBT®) within six months of their hire date, a paraprofessional certification in behavioral analysis. YAI provides the training and supervision required to sponsor you for the credential. The goal of a DSP/ RBT® is to help people with I/DD achieve the fullest lives possible by assisting them in areas and activities that promote self-regulation and self-sufficiency within their home and their community.

DSP/ RBT® work mainly consists of teaching life skills to people with I/DD in their individual residence, as well as working with them on behavioral health related goals. This can include cooking, implementing non-medical health care suggestions, home care, assisting with activities of daily living, transportation, and helping with behavioral interventions. These jobs provide both rewarding work that benefits people with disabilities and the communities they live in, and also with opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Though prior experience in a residential environment is preferable, only 6 months supporting people with I/DD is required. All job-specific training will be conducted at YAI offices or on site at the individual programs.

YAI has locations in the following California cities: Ramona, Fallbrook, Gardena, Hollister, Watsonville, Lodi, Byron, Fairfield, and Fortuna

Positions

Full-time, part-time and per diem positions are available. There are open shifts during the day, evening, overnight and on weekends.
