For the past three months, two interns from Manhattan Star Academy transition program have been volunteering with YAI’s Advancement and Training departments. The duo have been helping to stuff envelopes with thank you letters to donors, make copies, prepare training packets, and otherwise lend a hand as needed.

“It’s been a huge support having the students,” said Devon Daniel, Senior Director of Advancement. “They’ve been stepping up at a crucial time—we're in the middle of our end of year campaign, so we can really use the extra help.

For both students, it was their first-ever office internship, and Daniel helped make sure they were prepared for the job. He even bought both boys ties and is taking them to get fitted for suits in the coming weeks.

“I wanted to make sure they get a real office experience, and part of that is dressing for success,” Daniel said. “They were a big help to our department, and I hope this experience will stay with them for a long time.”
