Congratulations to Jodi, who receives support from our Long Island Employment Services, on her first anniversary as a porter at Best Yet grocery store in New Hyde Park. Jodi came to YAI in 2004. After several employment opportunities where she developed her skills, speed and stamina at various tasks, Jodi has worked hard and enjoys working at Best Yet.

"Since Jodi has been working there, she seems to really have a sense of purpose," said her mother Pat. "She has a feeling of being accepted as a valued member of a team, as well as contributing. She truly is so much happier and is gaining a sense of self assurance. I'm so proud of what she's accomplishing."

"YAI is very supportive and my job coach Vincent Bravo has been great helping me stay focused on my work," Jodi said. "I've grown over the past year at Best Yet."

For Vincent, who has worked closely with Jodi, this is a major milestone. "We've done a lot of role playing since she had to work on interacting with customers and co-workers," he said. "Now Jodi is always asking to help wherever she is needed in the store."

Best Yet appreciates Jodi's work and her contributions to the store.
"Jodi is a valuable asset to our team," said John Bello, Manager at Best Yet. "She is very dedicated and always eager to help customers at all times. We are very glad to have Jodi as a part of the Best Yet family."
