Latin American Hertiage month takes place every year from mid September to early October. Yet for many Latin Americans like this reporter Latin American Hertiage month is everyday. As I stated in an earlier article “ As in every year we show, promote and make aware of Latin Americans who have a disablity and have served as inspiration to all! Not just Latin Americans yet all people with disabilities everywhere! This reporter mentioned several Latin Americans among them Actors/Actresses Salma Hayek, Anthony Quinn, Jose Ferrer, Penelope Cruz. Musicians Jose Feliciano, Mark Anthony, and Arsenio Rodriguez. Here are others who are also an inspiration to so many!
Michelle Rodriguez admitted to Cosmopolitan in 2006 that she struggles with Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). She said that her ADD may prevent her from pursuing her dreams of working behind the camera.
“I want to write and direct,” she told the magazine. “But it’s not easy with ADD. I have a hard time focusing when I’m alone. I’m a scatterbrain, but I’m nervous of taking medication. I don’t really want to depend on anything to control my brain.”
Eva Jacqueline Longoria Bastón (born March 15, 1975) is an American actress, producer, director, activist and businesswoman. Jillian Mercado - As the website BOLDLATINA reported: "Afro-Dominican model and actress Jillian Mercado, who has spastic muscular dystrophy, has blazed a path for other badasses who just happen to have a disability. She has graced the covers of Teen Vogue, Glamour UK, and The Untitled Magazine. She made her New York Fashion Week runway debut for The Blonds, and has appeared in ads for Oil of Olay, Diesel, Target, and Nordstrom. As an actress Mercado has been a part of several productions, including playing Maribel on 'The L Word: Generation Q'." To add, CFDA.COMreported that she also appeared in Beyonce's merchandise campaign for the 'Formation' tour.

John Melendez - American television writer and radio personality known as “Stutterin John” Melendez was born to a Puerto Rican father and a Danish mother. According to Melendez, he began to stutter when he was in the second grade as a result of psychological mistreatment from his father after he witnessed an argument between his parents.
James David Rodríguez Rubio (born 12 July 1991) is a Colombian professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for La Liga club Rayo Vallecano and captains the Colombia national team. Ruibio is Stutter who’s considered one of the best All Around players in Colombia.
George Chelston Springer III (born September 19, 1989) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the Toronto Blue Jays of Major League Baseball (MLB) who has also played for the Houston Astros from 2014 to 2020. Among his career highlights: 4× All-Star (2017–2019, 2022), World Series champion (2017), World Series MVP (2017), 2× Silver Slugger Award, is a stutterer. He said that it was only after his promotion to the major leagues that he began to accept himself and develop new techniques to help him talk. Since then he’s been active on various organizations and has done charitable work on the issue Stuttering.
Sofía Jirau was born with Down Syndrome in Puerto Rico in 1997 but that hasn’t stopped her. in She began modeling when she was 16 years old, making her debut at a fashion show for the designer Wanda Beauchamp. At the age of 23, she began modeling professionally and has appeared in shows throughout the U.S. and PR. In 2020, she made her debut at New York Fashion Week, where she was one of the few models with Down syndrome to appear in the event. Two years later, she became the first model with Down syndrome to appear in marketing campaigns for Victoria’s Secret in the company’s history. Since then she’s been advocate for all people with disabilites everywhere.
Lauren Ridloff was born in 1978 to a Mexican American father, who was a counselor and musician, and an African American mother, who worked as an artist. It was in High School she’s deaf, yet it didn’t stop her!
In school, she fell in love for the arts and cheerleading, where she became one of the first deaf American cheerleaders to compete in an international competition. Since then she’s been involved with deaf performing group she has won Miss Deaf America competition and has worked as an ambassador for the National Association of the Deaf. She has appeared in numerous films and has been a vocal advocate for deaf and hard of hearing, raising awareness and has become an advocate for many disabled people in the entertainment world.
