It was that time again; the NYC Comic Con returned to the Javis Center for 4 days from October 17th to October 20th. And I was lucky on Thursday and Friday. On October 17, the Thursday, I was taking pictures outside the convention, and there were few good pictures. But Friday the 18th was a good day for me because I got to go inside the convention for the second time and it was greater than the last time.

I went because there were lots of displays of toys, there were lots of fans wearing cool and neat designed costumes, they were even selling merchandise of classic stuff from the 80s and 90s. But most of all I got to see lots of famous celebrities and actors like the Power Rangers cast. Karan Ashley who played Aisha, the second Yellow Mighty Morphin Power Ranger, Catherine Sutherland as Kat, the Pink Zeo Power Ranger, Nakia Burrise as Tanya, the Yellow Zeo Power Ranger, Steve Cardenas as Rocky, the second Red Power Ranger, as well as the Blue Zeo Ranger, and of course there was Austin St. John as Jason, the original Red Mighty Morphin Power Ranger.

There were also good actors that I’m familiar with like Cad Dodd, the voice of Wolverine of X-men the animated series and X-men 97, the new series that came out this year on Disney Plus. Kevin Sobo, who played Hercules in the show Hercules the Incredible Journey was there. There was also the voice cast of Teen Titans and Teen Titans go like Scott Menville who played Robin, Tara Strong as Raven, and Khary Payton as Cyborg. There was even J.J. Walker, who played James Evan Jr., or J.J. for short, in the 1970s sitcom Good Times.

And finally, there were some WWE hall of famers and legends at the Comic Con like Jake the Snake Roberts and his wife Cherly Roberts, Jim Hacksaw Duggan, Sergent Slaughter, and the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley.

The Comic Con was so great that I got to stay for almost four hours to take a tour throughout the center by checking out the lower level where there were lots of comic book artists signing autographs and chatting with the fans. When I went to the upper level, there were lots of panels. Each panel has its commentary base on the classic shows and films as well as reunions and sneak peeks of new shows that are coming or in development. Unfortunately, I didn’t go there because I didn’t know how long it would take.

But the two moments that I enjoyed most were playing a demo of the new Dragon Ball game and the Yu-Gi-Oh! booth where I was playing two demo games and played trading cards with someone else, and I even took a picture with one of the Konami representatives named Billy Brake, and I got a chance to talk with him about YAI and my ideas on making a fundraising Yu-Gi-Oh! Tournament. He was quite interested in my idea, but he told me that I must reach out to other staff to discuss it, but I didn’t get the chance so perhaps in the next Comic Con I might get a second chance. And the next Comic Con in New York might be improved as well have cool events that might be interesting.
