Anand Shah

General Counsel

Anand Shah joined YAI in January 2024, bringing nearly 20 years of legal expertise to the General Counsel role. In this role, Anand serves as the principal legal officer for YAI’s mission and has overall responsibility for the leadership and direction of YAI’s legal functions. Anand was most recently Senior Vice President-Deputy General Counsel at HBC LP, a holding company of Saks Fifth Avenue, Saks OFF 5TH, and Hudson’s Bay Company. Other notable roles include serving as General Counsel and Secretary at TRU Kids, Inc. (Toys “R” Us), Deputy General Counsel at Ferrero USA, and Corporate Counsel at Toys “R” Us. Anand currently serves on the Board of Directors of Orphan Life Foundation and has previously served on the Board of Trustees for New Eyes for The Needy. He has also supported various nonprofit agencies, including providing pro bono legal counsel to New York Legal Assistance Group and the Toys “R” Us Children’s Fund. He received his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Systems from Boston College.
