Nicholas LaCatena

President, YAI Long Island Self Advocacy Group

Nicholas graduated from Westbrook Preparatory School where he earned his High School Diploma in 2019. Nicholas then began attending YAI’s Westbury Prevocational program where he explored various internship opportunities. In 2022, Nicholas moved into his first group home where he continues to build on his independent living skills. Through his hard work and determination, Nicholas recently was accepted into YAI’s Supportive Employment program where he continues to explore his employment interests. Through all of Nicholas’ success with public speaking, he has been asked to represent YAI on multiple occasions at conferences and other events, including representing YAI at their Central Park Challenge. Nicholas enjoys expressing himself through his artwork and public speaking.
