Walk for cori

Congratulations to Team Walk for Cori, the winner of the first YAI and Broadview Networks Central Park Challenge Design-Your-Own T-Shirt Contest!

Cori and relatives

18 year-old Cori, who receives medical services from Premier HealthCare’s East Tremont practice in the Bronx, was joined by 14 enthusiastic members of his family. Their bright blue shirts read “I Walk for My..." Brother, Cousin, Uncle, etc., or, in Cori’s case, “They All Walk for Me”.

“We decided to make our own shirts so that we could let everyone know that we were all walking to support Cori,” said Nadine Garcia, Cori’s sister. “Each team member personalized their shirt to show their connection to Cori and the YAI Network.”

As the winners of the T-Shirt contest, Team Walk for Cori will receive passes to a special YAI Network event at Six Flags Great Adventure Theme Park, sponsored by Frank Crystal & Company.

This is the second time that Team Walk for Cori attended the Central Park Challenge and they are already looking forward to 2012.

“Words cannot begin to fully express what the Central Park Challenge and YAI has meant to us as a family,” added Nadine. "YAI doesn’t stigmatize Cori – they opened a door where others shut it. The Central Park Challenge brings families together to share their stories. It’s an amazing and uplifting event! YAI gave our family hope."

Special thanks to everyone who participated in the contest and to everyone who voted online!
