The latest YAI Arts exhibition is live on the YAI Arts page. The show exalts the ocean as a source of creative inspiration, freedom, depth, healing, and infinite possibility. The title is inspired by a Glenis Redmond piece called “Dear You,” which was featured in a 2019 curated selection of poems published in The New York Times by poets with disabilities.

One line of the poem discusses how a pen’s expansive powers are as deep, mysterious, and healing as the sea. This resonated with the artists, who created pieces featuring seashells, dolphins, pirate ships, waterfalls, and mer-people. Beyond the seafaring subject matter, the pieces pulsate with the depth and enchantment the ocean provides.
Chris Chronopoulos, one of the artists featured in the show, described his creative process: "It was unique to enter the realm of the opposite world, the ultimate world, the realm of the unknown. It's in the back of my subconscious. I see a world of paintings and sculptures and canvases. They dissipate and show me how to make them."
