The spirit of community, difference, innovation and transformation filled the New York Hilton Midtown during YAI’s International Conference April 28-May 1.

Over four days and 125 sessions, 3,000 self-advocates, family members and professionals from 11 countries and 44 states joined together to engage in conversation about how together we can design a better future for people with disabilities.

This annual event is a unique, comprehensive, "one-stop" opportunity to learn about cutting-edge best practices from an international community of people dedicated to creating opportunities for people with disabilities to live, love, learn and work as valued members of society.

With a star-studded line-up of keynote speakers, a first-ever Self-Advocacy Summit, a full day dedicated to health care, a special evening for family caregivers, and a full array of sessions and workshops designed to help people with disabilities, families, and professionals achieve their goals, this year’s conference generated energy, ideas and lots of buzz.
