I have two relatives who I have great respect for, who are both nurses and always spoke of the satisfaction they felt in taking care of people. I always enjoyed taking care of people and thought that becoming a nurse would afford me a greater opportunity. As a nurse I know that I have helped people and their loved ones overcome many obstacles in their lives. In my career I have worked in many different fields of nursing from hospital nursing to nursing homes to private duty to where I am now. In every arena I found there was much to learn from the staff I worked with and the people in my charge. Prior to coming to YAI I worked for a smaller not for profit agency in the same field. I left there to come to YAI because there was more opportunity for growth. At YAI I have had the opportunity to grow and develop in my professional role. I have stayed at YAI for 17 plus years because I have enjoyed the teams with whom I have worked. There has always been mutual respect and professionalism. I truly enjoy my peer group and feel much support from them and the administrators with whom I work.
